Tech Lead Role Purpose:
A leader and technical expert for one of our Squads. Working in a cross-functional team including Engineering, Product Management, Product Design, User Research and Business SME's, to support the delivery of their Squad's mission and objectives. Responsible for the technical feasibility and delivery of features. Responsible for the direction and support of Engineers in their Squad. Responsible for defining and implementing best practice and processes. Responsible for the architecture, development and maintenance of software. Liaising with stakeholders and other team members to understand and drive requirements.
Involved in setting the long term vision for the Squad. Champions innovative use of technology. Engages in technical discussions with Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Engineers, to understand the trade-offs and guide decisions. Dives into architectural details with their own and other Squads. Works with the Architecture Review Board forum for alignment and governance. Keeps a check on the effects to the Squad due to changes in the wider architecture.
